Voice 2, 2008-2010
This work is combined picture of participants and their handwritings.
First time I began to take an interest in the body was that my mind was struggled. I experienced “body ego”, after I indicated every time my heart feel pain also my body feel pain either.
Body is the most direct expression of human experience, and personal power, even while publicly revealed is a place where the projection of social meaning. If so, why is the abdomen? There are two reasons why I put the abdomen in center to represent women’s body ego. First, I think the abdominal is most well exposed place of the body from diverse and intimate experience. The abdomen is where the most noisy places of the body, but is also repressed place. In addition, it is a source of sound which are life and death crouching and breathing. Second, the erection of a human, they rosed to see the world further and it was the act of conquest and free. However, revealing an important organ of the body in front is that the relative expression of confidence and trust.
After I finished the shooting, I ordered the participants to write an article. The article doesn’t matter of subjects and form. Thus, they will write what they want to say them in the present. Comfortable space and enough time is mandatory. According to Ellen Six’s “Laugh of the Medusa”, women regain their body to write themselves and she implies that women’s body is the text that engraved women’s experience. Seeing the body is that the body faces the inner body, which is carved on the body itself. also it is sort of having a conversation. Listener has become yourself who don’t have self-confident, or has become an ex-lover, or has become Absurd society. “Voice” is a development work of revealing.
